Case 1: The National Commercial Bank The National Commercial Bank is the leading Saudi bank in the Middle East, with assets of approximately US$25 billion. The Bank offers customers a comprehensive range of financial services including personal, commercial, investment and private banking, trade and treasury services and investment funds management. The National Commercial Bank recognised that technology was limiting business growth: limited bandwidth and restricted traffic prevented the bank from offering innovative customer services. It needed investment in the latest networking technology to allow more convenient delivery channels for its customers, providing a better range of services whilst improving performance and reducing operating costs. The Bank chose to implement eBusiness and Ethernet End to End solutions from Nortel Networks, based on Nortel Networks' powerful Advanced Remote Node (ARN) routers, in conjunction with new "Business Policy 2000" LAN switches and Carrier Grade Passport switches.
A Meridian 1 telephone system integrated voice over the data network and a single Unified Network Management System supervised the whole network. - Increased speed, reliability and flexibility, resulting in better services and reduced bank operating costs
- Multi-tiered network supports telephone, Internet, Intranet, ATMs, enabling efficient new multidisciplinary delivery channels for customers
- Traffic growth can be supported cost-effectively to meet any future business requirements.
The National Commercial Bank believes its investment in the latest multimedia data networking technology will enable it to strengthen its position in Saudi Arabian market, allowing for enhanced performance and further innovations in banking services for its customers. | | Resources |

Case 3: RWA SCADA PROJECT Brief Description / Solution |
The project is to provide Riyadh Water Authority (now part of Ministry of Water and Electricity, Riyadh Water O&M Program) with a telemetry metering and automation system for Riyadh water networks and plants. Considering the possible scope of the project it was decided to execute it over a number of stages. The current first phase of this project comprises the installation of new flow and pressure metering at key points in the network, then to start collecting new and existing important signal parameters such as flow, pressures, level, valve positions and booster pumps status from water distribution network, treatment plants, terminal group and booster stations, and then transferring all these signals, from forty remote sites distributed all over Riyadh city, through a radio network (part of the project) to Main Control Center (M.C.C), where all the data is received , displayed , monitored and analyzed on a dedicated PC based computer systems. | | Resources |
